Responsibilities

New hybrid opportunity based in Billerica MA for a Senior Accountant to join the Bruker Regional Finance – Americas team.

  • Serve as a key member of the Finance team working to support General Ledger responsibilities.
  • Perform as a key contributor to the monthly and quarterly closing process.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance commentary on the flux analytical reporting.
  • Support the preparation of the US financial statements and other operating data for actual, budget, and forecast purposes.
  • Work closely with the Business, Corporate Accounting, Treasury, Tax, and Financial Reporting and Planning functions to ensure the quality, accuracy and consistency of the financial data reported in the general ledger for assigned entities.
  • Work effectively across the company’s functional organizations. Promote effective lateral communication and coordination across groups, both internal and external to the Finance function, to improve efficiency and achieve desired results.
  • Ensure that all reports comply with applicable FASB and SEC regulations, professional standards, and organization policies. Prepare and assist with applicable government reports.
  • Assist in the quarterly reviews and annual audit of the US in-scope entities with the external auditors.
  • Research and resolve various accounting and reporting issues and questions that arise at the regional, corporate and group levels.
  • Support Sales & Use tax GL reporting to third-party vendor and Sales & Use compliance oversight working closely with corporate tax.
  • Support all United States compliance reporting.
  • Lead or support various continuous improvement projects including those related to coordination and collaboration with our Business Support Center in Warsaw.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX 404 for assigned controls and support internal audits.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or Master Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of public accounting or publicly traded company experience in accounting.
  • Advanced current knowledge of US GAAP accounting and auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and company accounting policies and practices.
  • Strong business analysis, financial planning and reporting skills with ability to generate business insights that add measurable value. Knowledge of current trends in finance and functional best-practices related to position responsibilities.
  • Experience with consolidated financial systems preferred (BPC, Hyperion, Cognos), both internal and external financial reporting and consolidated financial analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office with Excel, PowerPoint and Word proficiency, Access desirable.
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, quantitative, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent workload prioritization, resource management, and project management skills. Develops and manages processes that are effective and efficient.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, and capable of gaining commitment and coordinated action for initiatives.
  • Maintain positive and effective working relationships across the company, at divisional, functional, and corporate levels.
  • Proven adaptive capability and demonstrated familiarity with organizational change.
  • Operates at the highest standards of business ethics, honesty, and personal integrity.
  • Valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete position training requirements.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
