Job Description:

AJH Transition to Practice/Residency Program

We are still accepting applications for our summer residency/transition to practice program! To be considered, you must be a graduate of a nursing program and RN licensed in MA by no later than July 30th, 2023. We are accepting applications for our Medical Surgical unit at this time!

Anna Jaques’ Transition to Practice/Residency program is designed to meet the unique and individual needs of both the newly graduated nurse and the nurse who is new to acute care.

Each month, there are several sessions scheduled (off the unit) that provide a combination of learning through active discussion, debriefing of clinical cases, content presentations and clinical hands-on skills to support the transition to acute care nursing. The group develops a close social bond that translates to incredible teamwork in the patient care setting and life-long friendships!

For the duration of the program, you will be paired with an experienced and dedicated preceptor and will have access to the AJH Nurse Navigation tool to guide your progress and competence. The Professional Development Specialists assigned to your area of practice will also provide routine check-ins and guidance during your orientation and beyond. The orientation periods generally lasts 12 weeks or so for those with no previous acute care experience or 14-16 weeks for those who are new to critical care.

For those interested in critical care, we offer specialty programs to support nurses in that transition once a foundation in acute care is built.

Please apply today and a recruiter will contact you to discuss!
