Recovery Clinician I (Requisition 1383)

This is a Full-time position in Boston, MA posted April 7, 2021.

The Recovery Clinician I:Assists and provides leadership and clinical direction in outpatient, inpatient and/or residential programs, including transitional stabilization services (TSS) for substance use disorders.Collaborates with assigned Manager and treatment team in developing the program and policies for outpatient treatment and/or stabilization treatment; maintains a caseload of clients in assigned program(s).Provides psychoeducational and trauma-informed group treatment to clients.May assist leadership in overseeing the planning and direction of the day-to-day clinical operations of assigned program(s).Represents assigned program(s) and its philosophy to the community, referral agencies and individuals; establishes linkages with mental health providers, health care providers, public/private agencies and client referral sources, for the purpose of client recruitment, coordinating case management and to augment treatment services.Supervises SUD and Outpatient or Residential Counseling staff and assists with fulfilling shift responsibilities and clinical interventions.Provides supervision to clinical and program staff and interns as needed, including assessing and developing treatment plans and in the provision of all individual and group case management services and interventions; provides supervision as needed to outpatient or residential counseling staff.Provides individual and group counseling, SUD education, relapse prevention, aftercare, and case management with a trauma-informed approach.Collaborates with other treatment team members in case reviews to ensure coordinated, comprehensive and individualized delivery of services.Assists assigned Manager in developing/implementing data collection activities and in utilization reviews of client charts and services; maintains adequate case records in accordance with MDPH and BPHC compliance policies and procedures.

Shares in fulfilling critical responsibilities of assigned Manager when he/she is absent from program.Ensures compliance with billing policies and procedures.

Ensures required clinical reviews are accomplished according to 3rd party payors’ guidelines.Works closely with 3rd party payors to ensure requests for treatment are approved.Complies and ensures compliance with credentialing, administrative and billing policies and procedures.Ensures required clinical reviews are accomplished according to 3rd party payors’ guidelines.Works closely with 3rd party payors to ensure requests for treatment are approved.Provides emergency coverage as needed.Performs other duties as required.Minimum QualificationsMaster’s required (preferably in Social Work or Clinical Counseling field) with LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, or LADC (1 required)Minimum 2 years of experience in substance use counseling, human services and case management.Knowledge and experience working with a multi-disciplinary team.Ability to work cooperatively with private/public and community agencies.Ability to work cooperatively and supportively with other staff, as a member of treatment/management team.Strong organizational, writing and communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of gender/cultural issues pertinent to addiction, treatment and recovery.Bilingual-bicultural Spanish & English desirable.Additional InformationCity of Boston Residency RequiredA Criminal Offenders Records Information request must be completed for this position.
