VP Sales Life & Materials Science Software


This is a Full-time position in Waltham, MA posted June 11, 2021.

Imagine new horizons: 

  • Reporting to COMPANY’s CEO, the Vice President of Sales will provide leadership and drive strategy across COMPANY’s sales and account functions while delivering successful quota objectives
  • This position will lead the COMPANY sales team, account strategy, partner channels, sales enablement activities and collaborate with our indirect sales partners in Life and Material Sciences industries
  • As a senior leadership team member, this role will work closely with other executives to chart  COMPANY’s brand direction 

What will your role be 

  • The Vice President COMPANY Sales will monitor the team’s performance to ensure set goals and targets are met and exceeded, fostering and promoting customer excellence for the organization
  • Be the figurehead for the COMPANY business worldwide in terms of external and internal facing activities driving double-digit growth
  • Act as the brand evangelist within the company, collaborating closely with Life Sciences key stakeholders across the enterprise and other company leaders to execute the successful brand go-to-market plans regarding markets, offers, and ultimately customer satisfaction
  • Support of global delivery strategy to ensure client success and satisfaction 
  • Build, lead, and manage the sales and business development teams to execute the sustainable revenue plan and foster talent development for maximum efficiency 
  • Manage the sales team to update and deliver an accurate forecast for COMPANY brand-both quarterly and full-year with the appropriate pipeline aligned with business objectives

The challenges ahead

  • Development of a sustainable business pipeline including strategic business transformation on key clients, mid-market, and partners
  • Lead business reviews with the sales team to ensure proper execution following business strategy, defined account strategies, and client needs
  • Contribute the annual Sales Plan and Sales Plan Sourcing and Targeting processes
  • Manage and ensure renewals collection and growth 
  • Foster and facilitate collaboration between COMPANY sales team and client ecosystems to ensure sales success and ultimate client satisfaction
  • Contribute, review and approve account strategy defined by the sales team for their assigned accounts

Your key success factors

  • Management of a sizable revenue plan and significant experience in a dedicated sales leadership role
  • 10+ years of experience in selling complex enterprise software, SaaS, and service solutions
  • Laboratory Informatics, Research Informatics, Molecular Modeling, and Simulation space experience strongly preferred 
  • Industry knowledge in at least one of the Biopharmaceuticals, Chemicals, and Materials Science industries
  • Experience with value engineering, strategic, and consultative selling in a business transformation context
  • Ability to think big but drive details to completion
  • Proven leadership managing and motivating a diverse team through a transformative plan
  • Team player, able to work collaboratively and influence across an organization
