Research Assistant- Brain Aging Program Digital Study

This is a Full-time position in Framingham, MA posted November 22, 2021.

We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive and collaborative full time Research Assistant in the Brain Aging Program at the Framingham Heart Study.

The Research Assistant is responsible for multiple project-related activities.

This includes, the handling of documents to the Institutional Review Board (IRB), recruiting participants by ensuring they meet the study-related criteria, scheduling study visit sessions, and maintaining the database.

Clear communication and ability to work with participants across the life-span is critical.

High familiarity with technology and various smartphone applications is an added plus.

The Research Assistant is expected to collect digital data, provide on-going tech support and coaching to participants, and collate and manage data.

Additional responsibilities include other research support related activities on an as needed basis in accordance to shifting priorities in the lab.

Previous experience using mobile or electronic applications and devices for cognitive status or other health monitoring is strongly preferred.

Required Skills

This multi-faceted position requires someone who is mature, independent, self-initiating, and comfortable working in an unstructured, non-traditional, dynamically evolving research environment with little supervision.
Help collect digital phenotypic data through smartphone applications related to their respective platforms
Provide on-going tech support and coaching
Collate, manage and analyze data associated with age-related cognitive decline
Prepare data summaries in forms of reports and presentations
Take part in general project management and meeting administrative and funding organizations reporting requirements
Required knowledge, skills, abilities/competencies typically needed to perform this job successfully:
Solid analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments
Documented excellent skills for protocol and manual documentation
Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with other staff in a multidisciplinary environment and with collaborating institutions
Experience with troubleshooting technology (training will be provided for all tech/apps)
Preferred: Some interactive telephone and/or email communication experience

Bachelor’s degree, 1-3 years of research experience (that occurred in conjunction with attainment of bachelor’s degree in acceptable), and a valid driver’s license is required
