General Overview

The Engineer Intern actively participates in innovate projects and gains valuable hands-on experience within their field of study. Performs mechanical engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives using established plans and specifications.

 

The Mechanical Engineer Intern will work full-time hours during Fall or Winter 2021 semesters. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work with engineers on specified projects based upon department needs.
  • Assigned projects may include creation of drawings, design components and assemblies, generate engineering change order documentation, develop electro-mechanical drawing assemblies and instructions.
  • Apply academic knowledge and principles of engineering to hands-on projects that increase product performance, improve quality and manufacturability, and reduce costs.
  • Develop technical expertise and organizational skills required for entry level engineering design and development of high technology products.

Education/Experience

  • Actively pursuing BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited university. Junior standing or higher.
  • Preference for GPA 3.0 and above.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications and SolidWorks or other AutoCAD program.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks and complete work on schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with mechanical and electromechanical assemblies preferred.
  • Must possess U.S. citizenship or be a “U.S. Person”. (A U.S. Person is defined as a person who is a lawful permanent resident “Green Card holder” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101 (a)(20) or who is a ”Protected Individual” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).)

Relocation or housing is not available for this position. Student should be in a commutable distance to office location in North Falmouth, MA with reliable transportation during the school semester.
