Failure Analysis Engineer

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist Senior Failure Analysis engineers for electrical, physical and chemical characterization work in a timely and accurate manner for the electrical and mechanical characteristics of systems and/or integrated circuits, components, sub-components nnsystems to determine the cause of failure, including the verification of analog and digitalnn nnperformancenn Participate in cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, Design, etc.) to solve problems arising from customer returns, process anomalies, engineering evaluations, and new product development Wet and Dry Chemical deprocessing or parallel polishing will be used to reveal the defects Prior or rapid learning of Microprobing and circuit understanding/debugging will be key to succeed in this position Acquire skills in the operation and application of standard failure analysis tools including: X-ray analysis, Acoustic Microscopy, Light Microscopy, Oscilloscopes, IR microscopy, OBIRCH, photon emission microscopy (PEM) and SEM/EDS analysis, Liquid Crystal hot spot detection nn SCOPE: nn Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues nn COMPLEXITY: nn Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Builds productive working relationships internally and externally nn EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: nn Requires a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (preferably) with strong understanding on electrical and circuit analysis.

Requires 0-2 years of applicable work experience Working knowledge of analog / digital circuit design, semiconductor physics and nnbipolar/CMOS, analog/power/mixed-mode IC design preferrednn Demonstrated proficiency utilizing MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, photo-editing, schematic and IC layout software, Matlab and scripting languages nn nn
