The Procurement Strategic Supplier Management team works in partnership with its business and suppliers’ stakeholders to ensure strategic supplier governance, drive performance and innovation. These strategic suppliers comprise of all Sourcing categories including IT, Professional Services, Travel, HR, and Business Services.
As part of Strategic Supplier Management team, you will report to and work with the Global Senior Manager: Strategic Supplier Management. You will also work closely with our Sourcing, Supplier Risk and Operations teams. This is a key role, working with internal stakeholders and suppliers to help define & develop the Strategic Supplier Management and Vendor Management programs aligned to our broader Procurement transformation program and demonstrate value delivery against these.
Supporting the development of the Strategic Supplier and Vendor Management programs, bringing to bear market best practices to achieve business value
Administering programs, and as appropriate organise internal and supplier meetings/forums within which to progress the programs
Analysing the supply base, supplier contracts and supplier performance/report to identify suppliers and opportunities for development; with support from Analytics and Sourcing
Supporting process improvement opportunities to enable and launch supplier performance management capabilities across all sourcing categories
Developing training, communications, and program update materials; with support from Training and Communications
Identifying performance metrics and develop vendor scorecards to measure the success of the programs, suppliers’ performance and generate business intelligence
Liaising amongst supplier relationship owners, suppliers, finance, procurement, risk management, and legal to assist with resolving supplier related issues
Coordinating efforts with Procurements Source to Pay transformation, ESG initiatives and apply tools/technologies to enable the programs
BCG spends ~$1.6B on goods and services across the firm globally. At its core, Procurement is accountable for ensuring that BCG is supplied with goods and services that meet business requirements, drive value and at best whole life cost to BCG.???

The functional procurement team at BCG is a healthy, yet nascent operating function that has generated material savings to BCG over the past 5 years. Over the past 18 months, we have embarked upon a procurement transformation to define and implement strategies, organization, systems, and policies to create a sustainable operating model. This model should maximize value from our suppliers, mitigate risk and meet savings targets. BCG is a highly matrixed firm where purchasing decisions are often taken at the local level, therefore this transformation will need to be carried out with high levels of stakeholder engagement, alignment, and collaboration.??

The BCG Global Procurement function is made up of over 45 procurement professionals in London, Stockholm, New Delhi, Boston, and Munich. This Sourcing Manager position will be supporting our team with sourcing projects on a strategic and operational level.???

Scope of work will be global, regional, and local, requiring procurement experience, relationship building, sell-in capabilities and sensitivity to local requirements. The individual taking on this challenge must possess a very high level of self-motivation/drive, persistence, resourcefulness, and a willingness to facilitate change.??
