The Receiver Exciter and Back End Processing (REBEP) Department is the focal point for receiver, exciter, beam steering, and signal processing technology in the Radar and Missile Defense division. The department is responsible for the design, development, integration, support to production builds, and lifecycle support of RMD products.
Job Summary:
We have an opportunity for an engineer who is seeking to utilize their strong academic background and professional experience in RF/Microwave system theory and design to help develop the next generation of RMD Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter products.
Responsibilities include architecture development, requirements analysis, hardware design, hands on testing of components, circuit card assemblies, and subsystems. Technical support during the transition to production and support to production activities are also expected. Team leadership skills including cost and schedule management plus proposal writing and presentation experience are desired.

This Radar Receiver Exciter RF Design Engineer role will be based either in Tewksbury, MA or Marlborough, MA
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Design and development of transmitters, receivers, or exciters.
Design and optimization of RF circuits- either chains of components (receiver, exciter, etc.) or individual parts (filters, limiters, couplers, etc.).
Working with interdisciplinary teams- power, digital, mechanical, etc.
Schematic capture and RF routing
Transition to production
Qualification You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science or Arts in, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of relevant experience in computer or software engineering OR a STEM Master’s and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with Microwave/RF system, subsystem and component analysis, design and test.
Hands-on experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, and/or Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications.
Strong technical and interpersonal skills with desire to continuously learn and improve.
Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints. Includes yield and margin analysis.
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges.
Knowledge of cost estimating, plus budget, and schedule management
Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations
Technical background in any of the following areas:
Cascade analysis and/or frequency planning
Filter design and fabrication
Circuit card assembly design and fabrication
High speed data converter test/characterization
Low Noise RF source design and test experience
