Position Summary: The Procurement Analyst serves as a liaison between the business and suppliers to procure favorable contracts. In this role, the procurement analyst will source, evaluate and analyze potential vendors and suppliers, liaise between internal departments and suppliers to compare and negotiate contracts and prepare supply cost reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, document, and maintain a reverse logistics program in partnership with the logistics and inventory control department
  • Work closely with the logistics and inventory control department to assist in the cycle count process
  • Work with the purchasing team to determine supply needs, research potential suppliers, and support expediting purchase orders; this includes developing and implementing vendor scorecard to automate best practices in the procurement process
  • Serve as a liaison and communicate pricing and performance needs to vendors and suppliers
  • Update and document Monthly Supply Costs Reports, Standard Operating Procedures, and other necessary processes to support the procurement department
  • Prepare cost-benefits analysis reports for review by managers
  • Assist in the negotiation of favorable procurement contracts with appropriate vendors and suppliers
  • In partnership with purchasing team, liaison with accounts payable to ensure appropriate communication between the department as well as timely payments.
  • Maintain industry-specific trends by monitoring demand for products to avoid a supply shortage
  • Additional purchasing activities as needed

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or another closely related field or 4-6 years of professional working experience in a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of shipping processes and metrics

Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to lift 50+ pounds, 100 pounds with two or more people

Time management skills and ability to prioritize important tasks

Proficient with Microsoft Office software

Certifications:

Forklift operator certification preferred

  • Prolonged sitting and working on a computer
