NEW BEDFORD, MA
– Child & Family Services is seeking a safety/security staff to provide support to Emergency Services personnel to assure a safe and supportive atmosphere at all times.

The candidate for this position will use physical intervention only as the last resort.

Flexibility with schedule preferred.

Hours needed are 5PM to 11PM-7 days per week are needed
– We can do a full-time and/or a part-time position.

Employees are fully benefit eligible at 20+ hours per week.

Qualifications:
High School diploma at minimum
Prior experience working in a safety/security position, or mental health setting preferred
Trained in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or be willing to attend a minimum of 12 hours of training in CPI
Excellent interpersonal and de-escalation skills that will enhance the individual’s ability to intervene in situations and avoid any need for physical intervention
Willingness to attend any other required training’s, i.e.

CPR, First Aid, Universal precautions etc.
Possess a valid driver’s license
Ability to move quickly in responding to emergencies
Responsibilities:
To maintain a secure workplace incorporating a positive approach to working with staff and consumers
To follow the lead of Clinicians working with them to assure that escalation of situations is avoided at all times
Whenever possible interact with consumers to develop a comfortable and mutually respectful relationship
To assist Clinician Assistants with administrative duties such as faxing, scanning, and making phone calls for bed searches
