Senior Development Engineer

Your Role: We are seeking a Senior Development Engineer to join our multidisciplinary R team within the Life Science Biology business focused on consumables, hardware, and small instrumentation for the Life Science research market.

You will work closely with other matrixed functions to develop and launch innovative products that address our customers needs.

We desire a hands-on technical leader who can manage the design, development, and validation of new products from concept through commercialization by applying innovative approaches to challenges utilizing a diverse knowledge of engineering principles.

The role requires strong initiative and follow-through in executing project responsibilities, overcoming obstacles, and balancing multiple priorities effectively.

You will utilize statistical methods to evaluate the capability and reliability of experimental results and to draw meaningful conclusions to inform future actions.

You will communicate to colleagues, stakeholders and sponsors though written reports and oral presentations.You must be able to lead multiple complex projects that requiretechnology development, an ability to guide teams, and engage with external collaborators.This position is based in Burlington, MA and may require up to 10% travel.Who You are:Minimum Qualifications:BS with 8+ years experience or MS with 5+ years experienceExperienced in product & process development from inception through release to manufacturingDemonstrated technical leadership on cross functional teamsExperience in developing products & processes using lean techniques and statistical tools such as DFM, FMEA, DOE, Root Cause, ANOVA and/or MinitabWorking knowledge in parametric 3D CAD (SolidWorks or PTC Creo) and knowledge of metrology techniquesMay require up to 10% travelPreferred Qualifications:BS or MS in Mechanical, Biomedical, Bio-Engineering or Electro-mechanical Relevant industry experience in Life Sciences or a related sector working with med-high volume consumables or integrated devicesCreative and innovative thinkerKnowledge and experience with ultrasonic welding, heat sealing, laser processing or other assembly techniques or assembly equipment
