The Associate Director of Manufacturing Business Strategy & Operations reports to the Senior Director, Devens Cell Therapy Facility Program Lead.

This role is accountable to manage the Devens Operations long term business strategy, business continuity plan, annual department budget, business case creation/evaluation process, project management office, and Operational Excellence Program.

Responsible to matrix manage large cross-functional team efforts and will have direct reports.

Accountable for project implementation for future clinical and commercial manufacturing.

Accountable for directing the site end-to-end value stream optimization of cell therapies produced at the Devens site.

This role will drive alignment with the overall Cell Therapy Global Manufacturing (CTGM) network strategy and work with cross-functional leadership and subject matter experts including Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Project Management, Global Supply Chain, MS&T, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Process Development, CMC, TT lead, TCT lead, Global Engineering, Facilities & Engineering, IT, EHS, Finance, Procurement, Regulatory and Patient Operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of direct reports and large cross-functional teams Direct project, risk management, and contingency plans Develop and implement change execution management strategies to ensure successful project execution Develop and monitor department budget and identify cost saving initiatives Optimize internal capacity and capabilities to ensure clinical needs can be met Define supply strategy, review supply agreements and contracts Develop overall raw material, component, and sourcing strategy in collaboration with Procurement and Global Supply Chain Participate in the S&OP cycle and escalation of critical risks and issues for resolution Implement metrics to monitor and track budget, projects, and manufacturing performance Create an environment of teamwork, open communication, and sense of urgency Lead as a change agent to promote flexibility, creativity, and accountability Deliver business results through timely and quality decision making Develop executive presentations and reports for the Manufacturing Leadership Team Up to 10% travel may be required
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:
Required Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering or Science
Experience:
Required Minimum 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry Required Minimum 5 years of people management experience Preferred but not required: Master’s degree and/or MBA PMP certification LSSGB or LSSBB certification (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Lean Six Sigma Black Belt)
