Director 2 – Facilities Operations

Unit Description:

You are an innovative Facilities Director and want high visibility, challenging opportunities and a rewarding environment. Sodexo is seeking our experienced Director of Facilities Operations for our growing University segment at Eastern Nazarene College Quincy, MA.  ENC is a picturesque New England Campus nestled in a residential neighborhood minutes from downtown Boston.  Our successful candidate will manage client relationships and financials and mentor our Integrated Facilities services team including Building Maintenance, Construction Project Management, Environmental Services and Grounds and Landscaping. With a competitive salary this position is eligible to earn the Annual Incentive BONUS.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • 3–5 years current or previous Sodexo Facilities Management leadership as Operations Manager or Director of Facilities Operations in a University setting or other large, complex properties preferred
  • Strong Hands-ON management style – will be the face of Sodexo Facilities management on campus
  • Strong People Skills and Professional communication skills, with the ability to motivate and influence employee engagement and training, demonstrate excellent customer service skills with a “can do” attitude
  • Managed Integrated Facilities Management including grounds, housekeeping, construction and project and maintenance
  • Experience with CMMS or work order systems
  • Experience with maintaining and renovating older building systems
  • Experience working with outside vendors and subcontractors
  • Exceptional customer service, relationship building and communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building 
  • Has strong financial acumen and budget management experience.

Position Summary:

The Director of Facilities Operations is responsible for directing facilities maintenance operations of building(s) and property at a single unit. The Director of Facilities Operations manages the preventative maintenance and reactive repair of skilled trades, e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, utilities; and manages the hiring, training and supervision of staff, professionals and management.  The Director of Facilities Operations manages a safe and efficient working environment, essential to the performance of the business.  The Director may oversee  construction work and often manages other core Sodexo services, and/or logistics of business/operations services, e.g., grounds keeping, laundry, food, security, inventory, mail, concierge services.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic education requirement- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Basic management experience- 5 years

Basic functional experience- 5 years
