Make a difference doing important work with a successful, international not-for-profit organization.nn nnFull-time, 40 hours per week position available, with flexible work hours.nn nn Description of duties nn nnSPIE is seeking an experienced sales professional with a knowledge of the photonics industry to develop our sales organization ensuring we remain competitive and responsive to changing global dynamics.

The position will have direct responsibility for core products related to our events business including sales of exhibition space, advertising, sponsorships, and education services.

In addition, they will ensure close coordination with SPIE’s publication business and related products. nn nn Education & Experience Requirements nn Skilled in sales, sales management, customer relationship management and sales operations related to exhibitions, new product development, sponsorships, and advertising with experience serving the global photonics community.

Experience in developing sales infrastructure including managing, training and coordination of sales team and contractors involved in worldwide sales.

Knowledge of photonics industry and landscape with a background in science-based media/advertising.

Experience establishing, building and managing a cohesive international sales team including developing overall strategy and working collaboratively.

Demonstrated experience in sales, new product development, and customer development in a consultive environment.

Experience in developing and implementing sales strategy across product lines, building and leading a sales team, and driving sales domestically and internationally.

Prior experience with hands-on product sales in the photonics industry including media, publications, exhibitions.

Ability to work collaboratively with political adeptness.
