The Production Supervisor ensures that the company products are manufactured efficiently, cost effectively, and to quality standards. Key driver for the planning, production and execution of master production schedule.  Proactively holds team accountable to critical dates to ensure production schedule is met. Responsible for ensuring workforce and physical resources are adequate to meet the production schedule. Supervises the activities of production personnel including work-flow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Strives to eliminate waste (Defects, Over-Production, Waiting, Transporting, Movement, Inappropriate Processing and Inventory) within the manufacturing area. Responsible for employee training and cross training to ensure there are additional resources as needed. Ensures the working environment is clean, organized and safe for employees at all times.  Understands and ensures team complies with all Teledyne safety policies and basic safe work practices. Reports to the Operations Manager/Director.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (other duties may be assigned):

  • Ensure that departments within the organization reach production goals within budget and a high level of quality.
  • Determines work schedules and overtime, allocation of resources and which machines will run and resolves problems as they occur.
  • Looks for new ways to improve the efficiency of production lines.
  • Confers with department leads to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibilities                                               

This job provides general supervision to nonexempt employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include providing leadership to employees, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


  • Associates Degree in related field preferred
  • Requires at least 1-2 years Supervisory experience.  Preference for candidates with 2-5 years Manufacturing Manager/Value Stream Manager experience.
  • 3-5 years experience working in an engineered-to-order manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 6S, and Kaizen
  • Working knowledge of ISO preferred
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP
  • Candidate must possess U.S. citizenship or be a “U.S. Person”. (A U.S. Person is defined as a person who is a lawful permanent resident “Green Card holder” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101 (a)(20) or who is a ”Protected Individual” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).)
